Investing in
What Matters Most
The future of Episcopal ministry in Western Oregon depends on strong congregations, vibrant ministries with young people, and the resources to support our shared mission. Through this campaign, we will invest in three priorities that will help our diocese grow stronger today and prepare for generations to come:
- supporting congregations with sustainable clergy leadership
- expanding youth and campus ministry
- and creating a renewed Diocesan Support Center in Oregon City to strengthen and connect ministries across the diocese.
Congregations and Clergy
Many congregations across Western Oregon are faithful and resilient, yet some struggle to sustain consistent clergy leadership. Establishing a permanent endowment to provide long-term support for parishes in need of priests will help ensure greater continuity in worship and pastoral care, while strengthening the stability and vitality of congregations and missions across the diocese.
Youth & Campus Ministry
Funding will support a new Episcopal Ministry House at the University of Oregon, creating a welcoming home for faith, fellowship, spiritual formation and leadership development, as well as dedicated campus ministers at the University of Oregon, Oregon State University and Western Oregon University. Together, these investments will provide a consistent presence on campus, create opportunities for students to connect and grow in faith, and build vibrant communities that can shape the future of the Church.
Strengthening Infrastructure
The Diocesan Support Center is not simply an office, but a place where our shared ministry can connect, grow and flourish. A new center in Oregon City will serve as a shared resource for congregations and members across Western Oregon, providing space for diocesan gatherings, leadership meetings, training, collaboration and connection.
It will help equip congregations with essential support in areas such as communications, administration, clergy transitions, property and finance, and lay leadership development, while also supporting ministries including chaplaincy, pastoral education and bilingual outreach. By bringing people and resources together, the new DSC will strengthen the connections, services and shared ministry that help congregations throughout the diocese thrive.
The future is ours to build together.
